· Outlander’s AJAC Award-winning design and equipment carried over
MISSISSAUGA, ON, November 30, 2023 – Continuing its commitment to delivering high-quality, value-packed and leading-edge-technology vehicles, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) has rolled out its 2024 model year lineup.
The Outlander PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) compact sport utility, which won the AJAC Best Mid-Size Utility Vehicle in Canada Award for 2023, returns as the brand’s flagship model with some features previously offered on higher-priceline trims now being offered standard in lower trims. The Outlander PHEV remains Canada’s best-selling PHEV SUV1, a title it has held since being introduced to the Canadian market in 2018.
There are a host of model updates across the five-vehicle lineup, which includes the Outlander PHEV and Outlander gas models, the Eclipse Cross compact SUV, the RVR subcompact SUV and the subcompact Mirage.
Also new for 2024 is the expansion of Mitsubishi Motors’ NOIR special edition line in Canada.
NOIR EDITION
The NOIR Edition trim adds dark design and cosmetic updates such as black alloy wheels with black lugs, black grille, exterior mirrors and mouldings, and various interior design elements such as a dark headliner, trim pieces and contrast stitching. Additional model-specific elements are highlighted below.
2024 OUTLANDER PHEV
After launching with a brand-new design in the 2023 model year, which subsequently led to winning the AJAC Mid-Size SUV of the Year title, the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid remains largely unchanged for 2024. The Outlander PHEV offers 61 km of all-electric range from a 350-volt, 20kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted below the floor and between the front and rear wheels for a low centre of gravity but minimal loss of ground clearance. The Outlander PHEV offers up to 687 km of combined electric-gasoline range on a single charge and single tank of fuel.
The 2024 lineup — which is now available in Mitsubishi Motors dealerships — features five trims, including the ES, LE, SEL, GT and GT Premium, ranging in price for 2024 from $48,198 to $58,198.*All come equipped with Mitsubishi Motors’ twin-motor Super All-Wheel Control system2, utilizing the front motor to drive the front wheels (the gasoline engine will assist when needed), and a stand-alone rear-mounted motor to drive the rear axle. Both electric motors are more powerful than the previous generation with a combined system power of 248 horsepower and 332 lb/ft of torque.
New for 2024, the Smartphone Wireless Charger and Hands-Free Power Liftgate with Adjustable Height are now included in the LE and SEL pricelines.
The NOIR Edition of the Outlander PHEV, expected to arrive in showrooms in the spring, will include the standard NOIR upgrades, such as black wheels and lugs, black grille, mirrors and other interior and exterior highlights, as well as black hood lettering.
2024 OUTLANDER
The AJAC Award-winning Outlander SUV will see some key changes for 2024 to better align the gas model with the trimlines of the Outlander PHEV. The LE Premium trim has been dropped for 2024, leaving six trims for the Outlander gas, including the ES, SE, LE, SEL, GT and GT Premium. They range in MSRP from $34,198 to $44,498.*
The microsuede and synthetic leather upholstery, along with the power driver’s seat, moves down to the LE trim. In addition, the hands-free power liftgate and wireless charger, which had been standard on the GT and GT Premium trims, is now also standard on the SE, LE and SEL trim. All models come equipped with Mitsubishi Motors’ Super All-Wheel Control system.2
Further to the equipment changes, the two-tone colour combination of a Black Diamond body with a Bronze roof is being replaced by a Black Diamond body and Sterling Silver roof combination. Titanium Grey is available for the start of the year and will be replaced with a new grey colour when the 2024 Outlander NOIR launches later in the 2024 model year.
Based off of the GT trim, this NOIR Edition will include exciting visual enhancements that further define the Outlander as a sleek, high-end and refined SUV. Additional details and pricing on the 2024 Outlander NOIR Edition will be provided in the new year and closer to anticipated time of launch.
2024 ECLIPSE CROSS
The 2024 Eclipse Cross builds upon the 2022 model year front and rear design enhancements while adding a new hands-free power liftgate with kick-motion sensor as standard to the SE, SEL and GT trimlines.
The SE trimline now includes LED headlamps, which had been standard on the SEL and GT trims, while all three trims get the addition of rear USB port at the back of the centre console, allowing rear seat passengers the ability to power their personal electronics.
The four well-equipped trims in the 2024 Eclipse Cross lineup range in price from the ES at $28,998 to the GT at $38,098.* All are outfitted with Mitsubishi Motors’ Super All-Wheel Control system as standard equipment, enhancing driving confidence in various weather conditions and types of road surfaces.
New for 2024 is the Eclipse Cross NOIR Edition, which is the first of the SUVs in the Mitsubishi Motors lineup to be available in showrooms as the special NOIR Edition. Based on the SEL trim, the Eclipse Cross NOIR gets gloss black front and rear skid plates, black 18-inch alloy wheels, a striking large black spoiler, black door mirrors, a black grille and black “ECLIPSE CROSS” hood lettering. Inside, the NOIR trim gets an upgraded steering wheel, black and dark silver trim pieces, dark grey accent stitching, aluminum pedals and Mitsubishi Power Sound Audio with eight speakers. The 2024 Eclipse Cross NOIR Edition has an MSRP of $37,598.*
2024 RVR
The popular RVR carries over the value-packed features from the previous model year except for the SEL trim, which now gets power-folding door mirrors as standard equipment. The 2024 RVR is available as a front-wheel-drive ES trim starting at $24,598* or in four trims with all-wheel control as standard equipment, including the ES, SE, SEL and GT, the latter of which tops the range at $35,598.*
The big addition for the 2024 RVR range is the new NOIR Edition, based on the SEL trim. Available in Labrador Black and Titanium Grey, the RVR NOIR Edition gets black-painted 18-inch alloy wheels, a large black spoiler, black door mirrors and a gloss black grille. It also comes standard with a panoramic sunroof. Inside, the RVR NOIR adds a black headliner, leather-wrapped parking brake lever, red interior stitch accents and aluminum pedals. The 2024 RVR NOIR Edition has an MSRP of $32,598.
2024 MIRAGE
Having once again been named as the lowest cost to own subcompact car by Vincentric for 20233, the Mirage returns for 2024 with a number of lineup changes. The ES manual trim and the SE CVT have been discontinued and, in their place, the 2024 Mirage will be offered in ES, NOIR and GT trims – all with Continuously Variable Transmissions. With an MSRP of just $16,998,* the 2024 ES now comes equipped with many of the features previously only available on higher trims, such as remote keyless entry, Smartphone-link Display Audio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, heated front seats and 14-inch alloy wheels. The $21,498* GT serves as the top of the line and for 2024 gets a number of interior cosmetic enhancements, such as gloss black air vent and shifter console garnish, and a chrome instrument cluster garnish.
In between the ES and GT is the all-new 2024 Mirage NOIR Edition. Built off the ES, the NOIR adds key features such as 15-inch black alloy wheels, a black rear spoiler, red grille accents, LED headlamps, fog lamps and the option of a two-tone roof combination. Inside, the NOIR is enhanced with red stitching on a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, seats with red inserts and stitching, as well as gloss black air vent and shifter console garnish. The 2024 Mirage NOIR Edition has an MSRP of $18,998.*
