Outlander top nameplate in 2022
Mississauga, ON January 4, 2023 – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. announced today 22,101 vehicles sold in calendar year 2022 and quarterly sales (October – December) of 5,926 units up 8 per cent year over year. In calendar year 2022, dealer retail sales saw a lift 11 per cent year-over-year. The company’s fiscal year runs April to March.
A landmark year for the company, Mitsubishi Motors launched its highly anticipated all-new Outlander PHEV in November. The vehicles began shipping out across the country at the end of the quarter beginning to fulfil the thousands of pre-orders made from eager customers. The all-new Outlander PHEV joins an all-new or refreshed line-up including the new Outlander ICE and the refreshed Eclipse Cross.
The Mitsubishi Outlander which launched in 2021 as all-new was a customer favourite as the top-selling Mitsubishi nameplate for the year with 7,850 sold. During the quarter, Outlander for the first time hit 1,000+ sales in Canada in a given month. With the all-new 2023 Outlander PHEV just arriving in stores, the company delivered 2030 vehicles in the year with many more deliveries planned in the next quarter. RVR followed Outlander with 6,149 vehicles sold and rounding out the SUVs is Eclipse Cross with 4,446 delivered. Mitsubishi’s subcompact car Mirage had 1,626 units delivered in the calendar year.
