MISSISSAUGA, ON, August 18, 2026 – Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) today announced more details about the 2027 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback EV, an all-new battery electric vehicle (BEV) that will launch in Canada in late October.
The subcompact SUV BEV will be offered in one exceptionally well-equipped trim with an optional tech package, both offering up to 454km of range on a single charge from its 75kWh battery. Notably, the Eclipse Sportback EV will be backed by the brand’s legendary warranty package1 including a 10-year/160,000km powertrain and lithium-ion battery limited warranty, five-year/100,000km new vehicle limited warranty, and five-year/unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance.
While Canadian pricing will be announced in the near future, the Eclipse Sportback EV will offer a very competitive MSRP, with the strategy of making it eligible for Canada’s Electric Vehicle Assistance Program (EVAP) rebate. All Eclipse Sportback EV models offer both Level 1 and 2 charging with the SAE J1772 format, and Level 3 with Tesla’s NACS format, making charging easy at home and on the road.
Mitsubishi Motors’ journey with EVs began in 1966 in Japan and continues to this day through both its award-winning plug-in hybrid technology and pure battery-electric vehicles.
The Eclipse Sportback EV is a key proof-point of the company’s North American business plan, Mitsubishi Momentum 2030. Through the plan, Mitsubishi Motors offers a full range of powertrain technologies: gasoline-fueled internal combustion engines, mild-hybrid systems that introduce electrification to increase driving efficiency, plug-in hybrid systems that offer the best of both electric and gasoline power sources, and pure battery-electric-powered vehicles.
Customer choice is the reason behind this, as the company knows no two customers are the same, nor are the reasons for the decisions they make when purchasing a new vehicle.
Mitsubishi Motors has committed to debut at least one new or significantly revised vehicle each year through fiscal-year 2030. Following the launch of Eclipse Sportback EV, the launches continue as it is joined in early 2027 by an all-new rugged, off-road derivative of the Outlander SUV, and in the future, another SUV is being planned. Additionally, the company recently confirmed the return of a mid-sized pickup truck, to be built in the U.S. with corporate partner Nissan.
