MISSISSAUGA, ON, January 13, 2026 – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) unveiled the latest version of Canada’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle today in Montreal.
The 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was revealed to the automotive media at an event ahead of the Montreal Auto Show, where it will make its North American public debut when the show opens this weekend.
The Outlander PHEV gets a significant mid-cycle refresh that will see its EV-only range increase by 18% to 72km thanks to a new 22.7-kWh battery pack. Total combined driving range is now 690km while combined efficiency improves to 3.2 Le/100km and gas-only efficiency improves to 8.6L/100km1 for both city and highway driving. The new battery has also increased EV power output, resulting in faster acceleration and a better overall driving experience.
The Outlander PHEV gets an exterior styling refresh, including new wheels on all trims, as well as suspension, tire and power steering updates that will improve ride comfort and handling stability.
Inside the three-row SUV, Mitsubishi Motors has responded to feedback from customers and automotive journalists with a new centre console design, new seat materials and colour options, and a significant audio upgrade from a collaboration with Yamaha™. There’s also a new 12.3-inch infotainment display, standard across all trims, as well as updated digital driver display graphics.
Full details on pricing and trim levels will be announced in the near future, but the 2026 Outlander PHEV will start at just $50,498² when it goes on sale across Canada starting in February. All trims will be equipped with with Mitsubishi Motors’ Super All-Wheel Control system and a suite of safety-focused Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The vehicle is also covered by Mitsubishi’s 10-year/160,000 km Powertrain Limited Warranty, 10-year/160,000km Lithium-Ion Battery Limited Warranty, 5-year/100,000 km New Vehicle Limited Warranty and 5-year/Unlimited km Roadside Assistance.
